Jenerally Speaking

When I was younger, I used to tell my brothers that when they grew up they had become computer programmers and make me a game called “My Life”. The point of the game is to play a character and live life by going to school, getting a job, getting married, etc. (According to my brothers, that sounded like a terribly boring game)
The old Commodore 64 computer system had a game very similar to what I wanted. The game was called “Alter Ego” – it was text-based, but you played a character from birth to old age and made choices and gained points by the choices you made. These days, I have found myself slightly addicted to another computer game – The Sims. Although it is not exactly what I had wanted when I was younger, it comes pretty close. It’s embarrassing how addicting this game can be. Even my 8-year has fun playing. It’s definitely a “chick game” and it’s “wicked awesome” as my daughter would say.
