If you look at the pandemic of 1977, when H1N1 or Swine Flu re-emerged after a 20 year absence, there is no shift in age-related mortality pattern. The 1977 “pandemic” is, of course, not considered a true pandemic by experts today, for reasons that are not entierely consistent. It certainly was an antigenic shift and not an antigenic drift. As far as I have been able to follow the current events, the most significant factor seems to have been that most people, who were severely affected, were people with other medical conditions.

One of my sisters got infected with H1N1 or more commonly known as Swine Flu. Fortunately, she did not have very high fever and she was able to recover fast .

the H1N1 or Swine Flu virus did put our country in disarray for quite sometime, it is good to know that at least it did not cause so many deaths.

Maureen - Well, it's good to know I was doing something good with the room! I'm actually curious about the energy balancing of Feng Shui. My daughter and I are always talking about how a certain room just 'feels' better than other rooms. I'll have to read up a little more about that.

I tried 'V', but it didn't do much for me. I'll give it a few weeks. There are some good new shows, though-Flash Forward, Modern Family, The Good Wife, and of course, Mad Men season 3. :)

Jen - sounds like you did a bit of what Feng Shui is about - removing stagnant energy through decluttering/cleaning and creating comfort. But, as you can imagine, there is much more to it! Balancing the yin/yang - textiles and hard surfaces, light and dark colors, patterns and solid fabrics, etc. Also, balancing the 5 natural elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. You have the start of it though! What you did is essential to good Feng Shui!
