Jenerally Speaking

So, this is my first Christmas playing Subeta and I am really looking forward to seeing what kind of fun stuff they’ll have for us.  For those who don’t know about it, Subeta is an online virtual pets site.

“Just like Neopets?” you ask.

Neopets is (in my honest, humble opinion) the sickest, saddest excuse for a children’s site online.  They hide behind cute pictures and fun games, but the people who work there are mean.  They think everyone is a liar.  They will treat you like a child and find nothing wrong with that.
I don’t think you would believe the story I could tell you about my recent experience with Neopets.
I didn’t feel this way a year ago.  I was a member for almost 6 years.  I joined with my daughter and I mostly kept to myself and just interacted with my family and friends.  It was a fun way to let off some steam between college classes, etc.  I always played fairly and honestly (like I always do on these sites)
I promoted the site, I made lots of NP, I supported them financially and …. and over the course of 2 months last year, I experienced the rudest, coldest treatment I have ever experienced from an online site.

I would never ever allow my child go through that. It was frustrating.  They hold all the cards and they know it and they love to use it.  I’ve personally seen them frustrate some little kids to tears by telling them that they are liars and cheaters when they were not.  It’s so sad when a company becomes so big that they no longer take the time to really make the place a personal, comfortable place to visit.  They allow way too many negative things to go on there…they allow way too many inappropriate things to be said on the boards.  Perhaps one day, I’ll tell the story and I give actually provide quotes and copies of my correspondence with their staff, but it makes me VERY cranky to think about it and I would much rather focus on happier sites.  Like Subeta.

The people who on Subeta are kind.  They are there for fun…not for creating a ruckus or annoying other players or cheating other players.  There in no tolerance for nonsense on Subeta.  The main goal is to keep the fun site…fun!  I am amazed at how many people on this site actually came from Neopets after they, too, were wronged by them.   We know the staff by name on Subeta.  We know the owner and creator of Subeta.  (Keith!!) They players get to know each other and we work very hard to make it a nice place to visit.

I know it’s just a little online gaming site, but it’s really nice to have a place that doesn’t stress me out.
